I am about to embark on a new jouney. This week is my last week of working full-time. After that I will be working only 2 days a week. It's been 5 years since I have worked less than full-time. It's going to be such a new wonderful season! I am so thankful for the opportunities I've had at my work, but it's time to devote the majority of my time to homemaking and ministry! It just can't all be done when you're gone and tied up all day.

I am so looking forward to getting to spend much more time with ladies in our church, fun times with Adeline, Friday's off with Jeremy(a first!), and getting to take care of my house the way I would like. I will go back to meal planning that I have lost in this last year, regular more thorough cleaning and hopefully staying on top of the laundry more. Notice the word Hopefully:):) I would really like to focus on teaching Adeline more too. Just reading with her more, giving her a chance to play outside more often since she loves it so much!

All of this will be such a relief to Jeremy too! He is moving at a pretty fast pace these days and much of our time has been hurried and I'm not able to help him the way I would like. He is such a huge help to me but with his job and being in school full-time it can be exhuasting. I think it will really free him up to relax when he actually has moments free. I'm excited for that!

I thank God for this amazing opportunity!! It has come unexpectedly to me and I couldn't be more grateful!! Here's to a new season for our little family!

sad that my mom can't be at adeline's birthday party!! why do I always get sad before events when I think about things like this...? I wish I could just be content about the way it will be. I just miss having my mom and any family near by. I wish so much I could meet my brother's baby girl and be there to celebrate with them too! Jeremy's Mom wont be there either. She'll be out of town. I'm overwhelmed when I think about throwing together a party without help. I'm having a great day, just needed to get that out:)

growing up too fast...

Adeline is growing up way too fast! She is getting her top 2 teeth in now and she has started standing on her own. She pulls up to standing all the time the past couple days, she can move along the couch a few steps and yesterday she started letting go and standing on her own for a few seconds yesterday. I wonder how long it will be until she walks?! I just can't believe it! Why do they have to change so much this first year? It's such a precious time. I do love watching all of her new developments happen so quickly though. I guess I'll just have to keep having more babies to enjoy the baby stage:) HA! Not sure how many or how soon. Not this year though...at least it's not in the plan! I would love for Jeremy to be done with school first, but we shall see.

We bought Adeline some Robeez shoes she can wear all the time now. They are so cute...I love them! I feel like I got a new pair of shoes! Shopping for a little girl is going to be so fun for years to come! It's great to have such soft and moldable shoes for her too that will be great now that she's on her feet so much more. I want to get more for different outfits although these will match most just not dresses. Okay enough about shoes! :)

This is Pastor Ben and Shelly. I am sure they would appreciate me posting this picture:) This is them enjoying desserts from a wonderful bakery in New Orleans that they took us to. We didn't get a chance to get a picture of Jeremy and I too. Seeing this picture prompted me to want to write about them. They are such a sweet couple. They never cease to amaze me at how often they go out of their way to love on people. They have been there for Jeremy and I countless times. They have come to several big events in our lives when we would have totally understood if they didn't. They care and they show it. They inspire me to be the same way for others! They truly give of their time and it's always a blast when you're with them! I wanted to honor them today!

visitors

my best friend from growing up and her husband and baby girl are coming this Saturday for 5 days. We are so excited! Jeremy has become great friends with her husband, too so it will be a great visit! I am hoping Jeremy can get ahead on his homework so he won't feel bogged down with school work while they are here! I have lots to get done before they come. I always feel overly ambitious about things I want to get done in the house before guests come. I should focus on the necessities and not worry about the other things if we don't have time to get them done. They are great friends and aren't going to be judging us anyway if every closet isn't organized. haha!

I wish I could see all my far away friends. I miss them so much, but vacation time and money stand in the way of the visits. There are many trips I'd like to take and I overwhelm my husband when I list them all:):) We will make our way through the list year by year, though, and then we'll start all over again since it will be time for another visit! Haha:)

neighbors...

This is Ella and Tanya with Adeline the day we got home from the hospital...so sweet!
Our neighbors will be moving in a couple of months and I'm oh so sad! Eric is in the Coast Guard so they are being transferred--a norm for them. This is our first time in a house and experiencing what it's like to be so close to your neighbors. We "borrow" eggs, milk, sugar, movies, air pumps, and and so much more from each other. Just a give and take. We do dinner together a lot and she can put together a feast on any given day! We had a ritual while I was pregnant. We pretty much had dinner together each Sunday. It was so great! We baby-sit for each other for a little while here are there, too. It's just become such a great friendship for us in such a unique season in our lives! We hope and pray we can have such great neighbors again! I told her last night over cupcakes after dinner:), I feel like we need to move too. SO hard to imagine being here without her next door.

It's all in God's hands and I trust him. He is going to bless them and show them his love like never before. I hope they see it!

Delicious meal to try

Here's a quick and easy, yet delicious meal to try.

Baked Tilapia and roasted veggies. I put asparagus, a few mushrooms and a thinly sliced potato on a baking sheet (you can roast all kinds of veggies). Sprinkled on some seasonings (garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper) and coated them in olive oil. Bake at 400 for a about 25 minutes. Put some tilapia in between 2 sheets of tinfoil on a baking sheet and sprinkle with same seasonings and add some lemon juice, bread crumbs and a little butter. Tightly seal the foil so that it will kind of steam the fish. Put it in the last 10 minutes of the veggie baking time.

Voila! A delicious, quick and easy, and healthy meal!

Sunday

We had a great Sunday. I had a close friend from Washington visiting, Stephanie. She met us at church, we hung out during the 2nd service while Jeremy was with the kids and then we spent a long lunch with her. It was such a sweet time. I just love her so much! We forgot to take any pictures though! Then, we headed over to our friends for the Superbowl. What a great time we had! I'm so glad for all of the lifelong Saints fans, that they won! So amazing!

I'm excited for this coming week. I get to see another friend on Tuesday that I haven't seen in so long! Will be great to talk with her!

We did our taxes the other night and we will be getting enough back to pay off all of mine and Adeline's medical bills from her birth and some to save. This is such an answer to prayer! I am so grateful to God for making a way to pay all of this off so it is not hanging over our heads anymore. We can move forward with saving and giving more now! And, we have one last bill that is a bit high to pay off for Jeremy so we will be able to make bigger dents in it now. Not sure if everyone wanted to know our medical bill details...haha...but I don't mind sharing!

I'm back! I hope to be consistent this time around!

Today has been a great day! Working from home....and thinking about Adeline's dedication. Trying to plan a good restaurant to go to and I need to see if the dress Jeremy's Mom made for her will fit. If not, we may need to go shopping! Not sure where I'll find white dresses....and I'd like some pretty tights and booties and a bow of course to go with it!

I'm still recovering from being so sick last week. But, I'm much better and able to get everything done that I need to. I keep thinking,"How can I get my immune system stronger so I don't EVER get sick like that again?" Haha! I do want to be healthier, though! I'm always on a quest to find healthy things to cook and buy for us. But, I war with the overwhelming desires that come for dessert and yummy quick snacks too! Slowly but surely we make steps in the right direction. Even when we veer off the course, we don't get on a new course completely. We come back! That's good at least! :)

Well, bye for now!

Today's dinner

Today's dinner is Yummy broiled Salmon, butternut squash and sauteed spinach. It's not always so glamerous, but sometimes the easy and quick meals can be gourmet too! I'm also trying to incorporate fish back into our diets. We used to have it a few times a week and I stopped cooking it for some reason. SO, here's to the healthy fats and DHA again!
